Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some answers to questions potential students may have about Total Control System.

Is Total Control System  accredited?

Yes all our instructors are qualified and accredited under the Australian Kung Fu Wushu Association, are fully insured, have working with children clearances and have undertaken COVID-19 safe training.

What age must I be to start the Total Control System?

We teach students from the age of 13 and up. Unfortunately due to the way our system is designed, it is not suitable for young children.

Is Total Control System a traditional martial art?

Our system is NOT a traditional system. We have a designer system of martial arts even though our roots are from traditional styles.

How long does it take for a grading?

The time between gradings differ depending upon the students progress. Typically this ranges from three to six months. Some students may progress quicker if they have had previous martial arts training.

Do we allow full contact sparring?

Beginner students are prohibited from sparring until they reach the second level. Once the required level of compentcy is aquired students are allowed to spar but only in a controlled environment.

Is Total Control System a mixed martial art?

No. Our system is a desginer system of martial arts developed from the ground up to negate any mixed martial art grappling with the primary goal of providing safety for the user.

Is the Iron Palm course included in our training?

No. The Iron Palm course is not included and is seperate to class training. The Iron Palm course is a home training program with instruction and supervision from out instructor team.  It is not a requirement to study Iron Palm for our system but it enhances its effectiveness. 

Do you have a Self Defence course I can do?

Yes. We have a targeted 8 week Self Defence course that is specifically designed to cope with common confrontational situations.
